Japan has a deep and celebrated relationship with masters sport, and after the World Masters Games, that story gets another chapter.
The Masters Gymnastics Team World Cup comes to Tokyo on 28 October 2027, welcoming national teams in both men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics across age categories from 30 to 70+. Nations unable to field a full team can form cross-border combinations, because participation matters more than borders.
This is exactly the kind of event that embodies the masters movement: world-class competition, age-adapted rules that level the playing field, and a sporting culture that celebrates athletes who refuse to stop.
Together with WMG Kansai 2027 on the horizon, Japan is presenting itself as a global capital of Masters sport.
Official registration opens in early 2027. For competition information: jens_gh_krueger@yahoo.de
